THOSE KINDERGARTEN-CUM-UNIVERSITIES
Sadly, in many instances Malaysian university students are still treated like kindergarten kids when it comes to dialogue ... but then again, kindergarten kids might be better off .. they ask questions unreservedly a lot of times, not having the fear of their mouth being duck-taped ... or microphones being grabbed out of their right to speak up
this is what... we have build in our public universities .. and this is the year 2013 ...when the world has already changed paradigms, Arab Springs sprouting everywhere, students continue to wield immense power for good radical change, demanding social justice, ethics, and equality to be installed ...
but where are these public universities?
i wonder why they still teach Thinking Skills and Public Speaking in these universities and why people still send their children to places where the creative, bright, young minds of these children are being deliberately muted and numbed from all levels, all fronts .. from age old totalitarian curriculum to police-state monitored student activities, to teacher-know-all teaching strategies, right up to useless pledges of loyalty to a corrupt regime instead of the pursuit of truth, to "Veritas', in a place called "university" wherein the unverstality and diversity of ideas should reign instead of the will to create one-dimensional beings able to graduate into parrots to whatever slogans shoved down the throat of those ever willing to become cattles ... pardon my joycean stream of consciousness here .. happens when there is teh fast and furiosu in me ...
take back the university ... bring back its true meaning ... it has been hijacked by those who do not know what education means ... what then must one do?
my advice to students ..
speak up ..
speak up ..
speak up ..
don't just
listen,
listen,
listen,

.. lead .. or get out of the way. it is your generation that is at stake when the adults are destroying your future ... you too must know what it means to be a "university students" rather than "a child at the kidergarten"
... you too must continue to challenge yourself with cutting-edge knowledge in your field, frontiers of thinking, diverse philosphical outlook to break paradigms, and the ability to speak truth to power without fear or favour ... these you have not done much ... and need to work on continuously as i see them ...
i am with you all the way in your struggle for your rights to be more intelligent .. don't let others think that universities are like kindergartens owned by their great great grandfathers instead of the being patroned by the "public" of the "res public' of the "republic -- of virtue and ethics" -- ar
