Debra White Plume's unemotional, deadpan narration belies the profound seriousness of the problem of contaminated water. Any species that can continue to pooh-pooh the very real concerns of nature-lovers, environmentalists and community activists and dismiss it mere idealism is clearly stricken with terminal spiritual cancer.
