I have fond memories of Trengganu -- of Batu Buruk, Kuala Trengganu, and Kg. Rusila. Reading about The Sky Kingdom of Ayah Pin interests me. A semiotic reading would be best to analyze the cult.
The place looked like Disneyland with that huge teapot. But what's the point, spiritually?
What will the by-election bring? Will the state turn yellow, like Selangor, Penang, Kedah, Perak, and of course Kelantan? I do not know. We leave it up to the citizens of this oil-rich state to decide what to do with change.
But the Sky Kingdom is an interesting story of escapism. Does this show human spiritual creativity? Or of weakness and metaphysical bankruptcy?

Ayah Pin is just a piece of cowdung.he's the fella that are eligible to be beheaded or hang till dead.using religions to it's full capacity as if he's the God.i'm sure our religion department gonna monitor every move made by Ayah Pin to ensure he's not gonna mess up with people's mind ever again.
I don't think many peple will take him seriously. Anyway he has a right to excercise freedom of belief and religion. Just like bn to deny people their rights.
And I thought it would be very good for Terengganu tourism with its very quaint architecture.
I am all for reviving it.

Hi Dr.,IMHO, any religion or belief that preaches love, compassion and respect for other fellow human beings should be accepted and tolerated, no matter how absurd the practices appear to be to us. All normal human beings are endowed with a discerning mind (conscience)and would be able to differentiate between what is right and wrong for most issues except maybe for some grey areas.So Ayah Pin might have been a little crazy setting up sky kingdom but did it warrant such extreme actions against him and his group including prosecution and imprisonment?
It is sad to see people being prosecuted for not following the "correct" practices of a religion. It is more difficult to justify imprisonment for not believing in the religion.
How can we, as educated people, take away the freedom of a fellow human just because of non-belief? Where is our conscience?
So very sad!
