what actually happened to Flight MH370?

a spectrum of considerations, based on available data, narratives, official reports, still point to a continuum -- from technical failure to act of terrorism. aviation experts are beginning to say that with an impeccable safety record of Boeing, it is almost impossible for an aircraft to disappear just like that, without any stress signal, in a favourable weather condition.

perhaps only a devastating incident that happened in a split second leaving no chance for mayday signals to be sent out, contributed to the machine going out of radar. perhaps an explosion. this is an early considerations and a conjecture. as for now US aviation experts are still baffled by the fact that it went missing without any trace. terrorism cannot be ruled out. and as long as the facts are not sufficient enough to draw a conclusion, the "black box" and the wreckage is not found, the next level of public discourse on this will naturally be one of speculation that produces conclusion from spurious evidence and more and more of these coupled with analyses based on emotions will produces sets of conspiracy theories ... sadly, such as those that say the Twin Towers of New York City are blown up by the Bush regime via controlled demolition. maybe it is a plausible conjecture as "documented" by the producers of "Loose Change".

in the case of Malaysia, it will be up to the creators and conjurors of conspiracy theories to produce one and one too many. What happened to the murder of the Mongolian, in which the records of her entry into the country was allegedly never found, and that no one knows what the truth is ... will be a model of the production of theories, at a time when the country is in political chaos. we therefore need to let science do its job through technology of accident investigation, through expert testimonies, uncovered all angles of possibilities like the good ol' crime scene investigation, with politicians staying away from the scene, letting the media reporting every phase responsibly using authoritative and credible sources always with statements conjuring tentativity and plausibilities, and ultimately providing the public information they need to know as rightful citizens without being told that this or that is still "classified" or of governmental "official secrets guarded by the military" ...

it will be a long haul, a long time to find out the truth about Flight MH370. as long as it takes to find out about the logic of Malaysian political games since Independence. Machiavelli's famous dictum applies: ... power: grab it, hold on to it, strengthen it, expand it, even of it means destroying others ... only a fool will let it go, inviting suicide.

age of terrorism again?

hijacking planes is a feature of modern-day terrorism and in fact a popular one as airlines are a symbol of nation-states. but in the case of MH370 if indeed one day at the end of investigations done by, say US counter-terrorism experts, point to the idea that MH370 was hijacked, the question will be: why were the demands not made clear via broadcast and who is hijacking and how long was it planned?

and why was the plane, as available flight movement information has suggested, "plunging itself" at such a split second moment, as if ducking or avoiding a missile?

and what about the airport security that allowed the holders of fake passports to board MH370? this will require the FBI or the Interpol to come down and scrutinize all the countries involved.

this may be far-fetched ...

The planes that hit the Twin Towers of New York City, on September 11, 2011 were literally commercial planes transformed into missiles ... hijackers armed only with box-cutters took over the cockpit and turn them into well-guided missiles without the US Air Force having the chance to shoot them down.

If the theory of MH370 *if indeed it will come to such a theory* is that it was hijacked and intended to be turned into something else and that it was intercepted successfully, how do we explain the logic of the entire operation and the political dimension of it which has bearing to international politics of regional or global terrorism?

If a commercial plane is to be turned into a guided missile, what will be its target?

we will need international terrorism experts to draw out some findings ... -- ar

Malaysian needs to learn better airport security re: false passport holders and lack of verification? Maybe we need to learn from the Israelis or even the Americans at least.

If a system is not fool-proof, and security officers do not look at people with the eyes of a no-nonsense New York city or Chicago or Moscow police chief, long term chaos will start breeding ...

my interest at this point is to see how nations cooperate in the search for the missing plane ... especially how the more powerful nations use their war machines for peaceful purposes. the US, if it wishes to be called "big brother" will be more respected using his resources waging peace ... -- ar
