Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain yesterday said the Malaysian government had taken steps to legalise some 275,000 Bangladeshi migrant workers in that country.

“The step to legalise Bangladeshi workers has been taken after discussion and procedural improvement between the governments of Malaysia and Bangladesh over the last three years,” said the minister while addressing as the chief guest at a business luncheon in Dhaka.

Expressing his gratitude to the Malaysian government, the minister said the Bangladesh government appreciated the gesture of the East Asian country to employ the illegal migrants.

The Bangladesh-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BMCCI) organised the meeting.
After completion of the legalisation process, Malaysia will take around 1.1mn more workers from Bangladesh, the minister said.

“The Malaysian government has agreed to import huge manpower from Bangladesh due mainly to friendly relations between the two countries,” Mosharraf said, adding that around 500,000 Bangladeshis are currently working in Malaysia.

“We want to transform our huge manpower into human resource and we are preparing our people to achieve the goal,” said the minister.

To this aim, he said the Bangladesh government had allocated another 10bn taka for building more manpower training centres to train up more people under different trade courses.

Bangladesh officially started exporting manpower in 1976 and now the country’s total foreign remittance inflow stands at $11.65bn.

According to the World Bank (WB) report, over 8mn Bangladeshis are working in different foreign countries, saying that Bangladesh is in the list of top 10 remittance earning countries as it got over $12bn in 2011.
Bangladesh exports manpower to 124 countries.

Good idea. The Race - Replacement of the Malays by a poorer, darker, racially - alien Bangladeshi populace will allow the Malays to abdicate their genetic future.
