In the name of progress and development, Malaysia hopes to create a nation of gamblers by approving soccer gambling licenses. Schoolchildren can now rationalise illegal betting on their favourite kampung team, housewives can do the same with the many leagues, and of course the filthy rich can continue to gamble on sports big time. Through the control of the media, the feeding of the masses with a hundred-channel diet of mental junk daily, creating a fantasy Times-Square like Kuala Lumpur red-light district with a Disney-like entity, and all a long-term strategy to kill critical sensibility - robber barons and poker-faced politicians and powerful Mafia-like dynasties orchestrated this dominance of the rakyat fashioned after the Illuminati.

When the PM gave the football betting license to Vincent Tan before any official announcement was made and without going through any vetting process, this already shows the two are in cahoots to the core.
Everyone knows that part of the spoils of Toto ( esp those from 'special draws' ) are channeled under the table to UMNO to fund their special ops.
Its no secret now that everyone knows the PM's modus operandi is "Can we have an understanding?; U help me, I help U"
In this case the spoils from the betting license will contribute additional slush funds for the dirty UMNO regime. All at the expense of the poor rakyat who sees gambling as their last bet to make some money to reduce their suffering.
Does the our government care at all? Hell NO! We can see a pattern here that is the trademark of the Najib admin. As long as Najib gets what he wants, he will push it through even if it meant breaking the law (like in Perak power grab no less headed by Najib)or in this case of giving the football betting license to Vincent Tan, wrecking the lives of the poor man in the street.

Gambling is here to stay, legal or illegal. At least you have better control and increased revenue when you legalise it. The objection is in the way the licence was granted.Same thing goes for prostitution and medicinal drugs. Just imaging the money we would save by not having enforcement officers doing unproductive work.Contrary to popular belief, crime rate will drop.
As a devout Muslim, Dr Azly, you know for absolute certain that all non- Muslims are hellbound, anyway ; so why display faux - concern about the morals of the Chinese who are, after all, the racial group most likely to indulge in games of chance?
Do u actually believe what they said? (tax revenue from sports betting is for non Muslims only?) Then you should consider how the government collect and distribute their revenues. This is the basic of gov's financial management:
Gov collect their income from taxes, zakat, unit trust and loans. All revenue is collected under Kumpulan Wang Disatukan (KWDS) EXCEPT ZAKAT. There are 3 types of accounts under KWDS: Akaun Hasil Disatukan (AHD), Akaun Amanah Disatukan (AAD) and Akaun Pinjaman Disatukan (APD). While AAD deals with unit trust and deposits' money and APD with gov loans, AHD is where ALL revenues go including CIGARETTES, ALCOHOL and GAMBLING TAXES. We know government's main revenue is tax, so naturally AHD is the main account for spending.
There's NO WAY one could tell which money they used for Muslims' development. Heck, even most government servants themselves didn't know what kind of money used to pay their salaries... let alone those crap-spewing ministers. But one thing for sure, AHD is used to pay gov servants' salaries and also developments like infra, buildings, housing, mosques, temples and churches (to name a few).
Some minister said taxes from gambling is used for non Muslims to appease/ menyedapkan hati the Muslims. In reality, gambling, alcohol and cigarettes are the biggest tax collection and that kind of money funded us (directly or indirectly) since ages ago.
I'm not saying that I'm pro legalizing sports betting. But they shouldn't mollycoddle us into believing funding for Muslims are 100% HALAL. Judging from their financial management practices, no one could tell for sure this or that money is for Muslims/ non-Muslims... unless the gov shows us clearly otherwise.
SIDE NOTE: I was told that bonus for gov servants came from 1% of cigarettes' tax. When CUEPACS asked for more bonus, it means they knew the gov have a lot more in their coffers.
