Pythagoras, early radical socialist

Fascinating video. I think Pythagoras is largely remembered for his theorem a^2 + b^2 = c^2 and as an early philosopher with esoteric ideas of reality rather than as a radical socialist

Yes, he's largely credited for the theorem but the link between philosophy and mathematical thinking in times of Greek civilization is strong. Philosophy gave birth to the sciences and to cosmology. The idea of Man and the universe is central (and mathematical as well.)
