In the late 1990s while doing my doctoral work at Columbia University, I studied under Howard Gruber (Jean Piaget Chair, Geneva) who studied the cognitive process of Charles Darwin. Gruber and Wallace developed the methodology of studying creativity called The Evolving Systems Approach:
