Only one cure. Do what china does. Line them up and make the family pay for the bullet.
The pattern of corruption & hypocrisy has been in place thousands of generations, no thanks to hubristic monarchs & other tinpot despots whose egos require constant reassurance, which is why they surround themselves with obsequious sycophants & incarcerate, exile or execute all those endowed with independent minds & innate nobility.
Rather than obsess ourselves with PUNISHMENT, let's concentrate on being perfectly HONEST with our kids so that they can reciprocate that trust & never conceal their thoughts & deeds from us lest they get whacked for being themselves. In a culture that cherishes honesty & rewards the truth-tellers, hypocrisy & deceit & corruption will be the exception rather than the rule.
