Japanese invasion of Malaya!

In the 1980s, Malaysia announced and enacted the "Look East Policy", asking her citizens to emulate the work ethics of the East Asians namely the Japanese and the Koreans. This was the time of Reaganomics, the "magic of the marketplace the primacy of globalization, and the time when corporate capitalism was king of ideologies.

On the Look East Policy: I read that as Malaysia's "peaceful invitation to another invasion" that befitted Asian, American, and European multinational corporations especially of the telematics industry.

Recall, circa World War 2 the global scheme of the Axis Power of the East called "The East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere" in which Indonesia's president and "national-socialist" General Achmed Soekarno was buying into the Nipponization of the region, circa the era of "Ganyang Malaysia" (Crush Malaysia).

Viva Indonesia Raya? (Long Live Greater Indonesia)? The scheme was also to rename the Malay-Nusantara world as MAPHILINDO (Malaysia-Phillip pines-Indonesia), somewhat like the union of The United States of America, Mexico, and Canada into a powerhouse of regional economy. In the 1980s, Malaysia too proposed something called The East Asia Economic Caucus, which remained a caucus till this day.
