I was not sure in what language this band in Beijing was singing in, until I listened closely to the chorus. Chairman Mao might be living in interesting times had he been in one of these concerts. Is this the Americanization of Chinese youth? Or is one of the benefits of globalization and the rise of a networked and confused society? Watching this clip takes me to my undergraduate years of studying Chinese literature (ah... those great poems of ghost and the supernatural of the different dynasties!) and philosophy and reading Stillwell and the American Experience in China. If Los Angeles has its Chinatown, Beijing has its Deathmetal-town, I suppose -- as in Alor Setar, Ipoh, Melaka, Johor Bahru ...
What would Chairman Mao say? Time for another cultural revoultion maybe?..

Chairman Meow, on being asked on his thoughts regarding death metal music
Chairman Mao would have died of heart attack if he sees this.
They'll still go jumping flea with yukele. Just sing it in gibberish.
